Studio Safety & Conduct Guidelines

To ensure the safety, cleanliness, and positive learning environment of our studio, all students and families are expected to follow the guidelines below.

Dress Code & Personal Safety

  • Students must follow the studio dress code at all times.

  • For safety reasons, students who are not in proper dress code will not be permitted to participate in class.

  • Baggy clothing, sweatpants, jeans, pajamas, and hoodies are not permitted.

  • Hair must be neatly pulled back and secured.

  • No dancing in socks.

  • No dangling jewelry.

  • Chewing gum is not permitted during class.

Studio Care & Cleanliness

  • Help us keep our studios clean and well maintained.

  • Dance shoes should not be worn outside, as this can damage them.

  • Street shoes are not permitted on the dance floors.

  • No snacks or open drinks are allowed in the studios.

  • All drinks must have a lid; carbonated beverages are not permitted in dance rooms.

Punctuality & Attendance

  • Students are expected to arrive on time for class.

  • Students arriving several minutes late may not be permitted to participate if the instructor feels it would be unsafe to do so.

  • Regular attendance is important; students who miss class frequently may be transferred to a lower level.

  • If a student will be late or absent, please notify the studio in advance.

Lobby & Supervision

  • Parents assume full responsibility for the actions and behavior of all children under their supervision while in the lobby.

  • The lobby is an area where studio business is conducted; excessive noise cannot be tolerated.

  • All drinks must have a lid or cap.

  • Snacks must be finished in the lobby and should be non-messy.

Studio Access & Behavior

  • Only enrolled dancers are permitted in the studios unless approved by an instructor.

  • Children are not permitted in studios that are not in use.

  • Playing, hanging on ballet barres, or misusing studio equipment is not permitted.

  • Students should use the restroom prior to class to avoid missing instruction.

Discipline

Dance is a discipline, and students are expected to demonstrate age-appropriate behavior at all times. Disruptive behavior may result in the student being asked to observe class. Continued disruption may require the student to leave the class to ensure a positive and productive learning environment for all dancers.
